Succession Planning with
Annie Dee and Seth More

Annie Dee is President of Dee River Ranch, which she farms with her brother Mike, her two sons Seth and Jesse and their families. The 10,000-acre family farm in western Alabama and eastern Mississippi grows primarily corn and soybeans. In addition, the ranch has over 1,000 head of Brahman and Angus crossbred cattle, along with pine and hardwoods.

She is a graduate of Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Industries and sits on many boards including Alabama Ag Credit, formerly on the United Soybean Board, and others.

Annie was recognized in 2013 as “Alabama Farmer of Year” for her passion in soil conservation, no till and cover crops and innovative conservation and precision management practices including an advanced irrigation network, aimed at protecting the environment.

Annie and Mike were able to successfully navigate the purchase of the farm from their other 10 siblings or their estates with the help of 3 different groups of facilitators. The whole process took 10 years to accomplish.
