Wally Thomas provides Agriculture Real Estate Lending and Consulting with the Heart of a Teacher. With 26 years of banking experience, serving farmers and agribusinesses, Wally has a customer centric approach to helping his clients acquire capital and strategically analyze their business for profitability and succession.

As the President/CEO of Morsen Services, Inc., Wally manages and helps his staff service a $162 Million Dollar agriculture real estate loan portfolio and provides financial analysis and business consulting services. The MSI loan portfolio consists of farm operations in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Missouri, and Indiana, and Georgia. The average loan size is currently $1.2 Million, encumbering 69,000 acres. Wally’s consulting clients are multi-generational and multi-entity farm families and agribusinesses.

Wally purchased MSI in 2021 after a successful banking career with three distinctly different bank holding companies including; the private, regional, and national sectors. Wally’s energetic leadership style benefited his clients he represented and bankers he helped as their team leader. During his banking tenure, he independently co-developed the curriculum and co-taught five Nationally Accredited Agriculture Lending Schools from 2015-2019.

Wally’s reputation and passion for the agriculture industry has been built from a foundation of; collaboration, enthusiasm, support for his clients, and taking appropriate actions to solve problems. He has utilized his leadership skills as an interim CEO for an SBA 504 Corporation for two years and has been hired to consult bankers utilizing FINPACK since re-firing his career in 2019.
Wally grew up on a diversified family dairy farm with his parents and 5 siblings in north central North Dakota. This was the foundation of his work ethic and understanding of family dynamics.

Wally obtained his graduate and undergraduate degrees in Agriculture Education from North Dakota State University. He taught agriculture in the secondary, postsecondary, and adult education sectors for 12 years.

Wally is a registered consultant with the American Society of Agriculture Consultants.
