Karen Maanum and her husband Tom raise corn and soybeans in and around Graceville, MN. While that is a full-time job, their 3 kids also keep them busy! Sam and Charlie started a livestock partnership a decade ago, and more recently began a small cow-calf herd while also partnering with their parents in “the dirt” farming. Their daughter, Marlie is enrolled in the Physical Therapy program at the University of North Dakota. Karen is the office manager/bookkeeper (Who are we kidding? She does it all!). She grew up on a small farm in Beardsley, MN and received a certificate in computer operations from North Dakota State College of Science.
Karen worked off the farm for a number of years in various office support positions, but never lost touch with the farming community. She worked with notable names such as AgCountry Farm Credit Services, USDA Farm Service Agency, and POET, LLC, aka Broin and Associates, Inc. The Maanums are beginning the process of transitioning the farm to their two sons.
Their mission is to “Keep the Family Farm Farming”.
